POPCORN MACHINE INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for choosing Torkay Event Services for your rental needs. Below, you’ll find simple and effective instructions to ensure you get the most out of your popcorn machine, a fantastic addition to any gathering or event.
Below are simple steps to operate your popcorn machine effectively. Let’s get popping!
**1. Preheat the Machine:**
- Turn on the popcorn machine and allow it to preheat for approximately 3-5 minutes. This ensures the kettle reaches the optimal temperature for popping corn.
**2. Measure Popcorn Kernels:**
- If you purchased prepackaged kernels from us, to ensure proper use and operation of the unit, pour the kernels, butter, and seasoning into the kettle.
Please keep in mind we cannot guarantee the operation of the unit if you are using your own customer supplied items and portions. If this is the case, make sure not to overfill the unit as it will cause the kettle spinner damage and the unit will not work properly. We cannot make an additional trip during your event to help with the operation of the unit if you are using customer supplied items and run into problems as our prepackaged packs are specifically designed to be used with exact measurements for the machine.
**3. Close the Lid:**
- Securely close the lid of the popcorn machine to prevent kernels from popping out during the popping process.
**4. Start Popping:**
- Once everything is in place, turn on the motor switch to start the popping process. The kernels will begin popping, and you'll soon enjoy the aroma of freshly popped popcorn.
**5. Wait for Completion:**
- Allow the popping process to complete before opening the lid. You’ll know it’s done when there are a few seconds between pops.
**6. Serve and Enjoy:**
- Once popping is complete, carefully open the lid and use a heat-resistant glove or mitt to handle the hot kettle handle to pour the popcorn into the serving basin. Pour the freshly popped popcorn into serving containers and enjoy your tasty treat!
**7. Cleaning:**
- We clean and sanitize our units after each rental, but please make sure there are no remaining kernels or popcorn left in the unit and we’ll take care of the rest.
**8. Safety Precautions:**
- Always supervise the popcorn machine while in use, especially if children are present.
- Use caution when handling hot surfaces and popping kernels to avoid burns.
- Never immerse the entire machine in water or other liquids for cleaning.
**Troubleshooting:**
- If you elected to use your own customer supplies to operate the popcorn machine, unfortunately there is nothing we can do to assist with any trouble shooting you may require for the unit to function properly. No refunds will be given if the unit does not operate properly without the purchase of the prepackaged supplies designed to be used with the unit.
